Over one thousand HSC girls turned up @kyambogou Soroti campus to hear female science and engineering achievers share their stories. They also received career guidance. This was organised by KyU as an outreach programme to encourage female students to take up science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics programmes at university

Today, @kyambogou Soroti campus, we hosted over 1000 girls from secondary schools in Eastern Uganda under the theme: STEM powering her to think, build and lead. This was intended to promote STEM programmes to female students in HSC. We had lady achievers in science and engineering share journey stories and the academic registrar’s admission office offered career guidance to what turned out to be both Arts and Science students. Wonderful occasion it was.

Today on Father’s Day, I wish to honour my father for sacrificing all he had to give his children an education he did not have. It is that sacrifice that has brought me to where I am and allowed me to travel the world. At this point I wish to encourage all fathers to take a very keen interest in the education of their children apart from paying fees. May God bless all the fathers on this day

Dr. Maureen Ssempija (Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering) shared her journey through the male-dominated world of engineering, urging the girls to embrace curiosity and hands-on building. "If she can, I can" she inspired.

Wineno Joan (Computing Student), representing the student innovators delivered a stellar peer-to-peer testimonial, sharing how tech and computing are empowering her to build real-world applications.
