@WilliamWolfe Do you mean "effeminate" or nerdy? Not all men are macho, but that doesn't make them effeminate. Many scholars are focused on intellectual pursuits and aren't as much into more traditionally masculine pastimes.
@DPGBehler I would never be an actual Calvinist, but if I had to choose between two churches, there's no way I could attend an EO church. I like many Calvinist pastors, and agree with them on a majority of issues, especially the dispensationalists like MacArthur.
@larissaphillip One of the reasons that you have homeschooled kids like this is that some parents that try homeschooling are not self-starters. They need guidance and support. That's why I'm in the process of starting a homeschool resource center, to get new families off on the right foot.
@bethanyshondark Every discipline method we tried backfired. We used Time-Out. He would just sit there and refuse to come out even when his time was up. We tried taking away his things. He took away the rest of his things and put them in boxes. Eventually, he matured enough to understand. 2/2
@bethanyshondark I have three kids on the spectrum, and they are all very different. My youngest responds very well to threats and incentives. My middle child would go into a tantrum that literally lasted for hours. The ONLY thing that calmed him down was watching his favorite show. 1/2
@wordsofthislife It's not just Protestants. A large part of the movement is coming from Catholics. One common denominator is that they tend to hold Augustine in high regard.
@Rich_Cooper A lot of women don't understand that this is the main reason the women have historically been punished more harshly for adultery than men. Prior to IVF, a woman always knew that her child was hers. Prior to DNA tests, a man could not be certain.
@SirJBritain You still don't have air conditioning in your public buildings? I can understand not having central air in private homes when you don't have many very hot days, but surely buildings open to the public should be equipped with air conditioning.
@BigStickie@ClownWorld That happened to my son at McDonalds one time. He ordered two cheeseburgers with just the cheese and ketchup. He was served two buns with cheese and ketchup- no burgers.
@Truth_matters20@CherylSchatz Grace is a gift of God, but it still must be accepted. It isn't a work to take a present that was freely given. If you send your friend a present, and he leaves it on his porch, would you drive over to his house, force it into his hands and stand over him while he opens it?
@virgilwalker@AddisonSmithTV I have a friend who married a man from Africa. They chose to settle in an area with a small population of blacks, not because of "racism" but because her husband was convinced that American black CULTURE would destroy their children. Their oldest are in college, never in trouble.
@ConceptualJames I like to remind people that it was MEN who ratified the 19th Amendment in the first place. Also, if there is to be any restrictions on the right to vote, it should be placed on people with no knowledge or understanding of the Constitution.
@LilaGraceRose Then, there are those of us who were assured our kids were perfectly healthy by the doctors only to discover that they have disabilities. We have been fed the lie that science can make our futures predictable. Having children is both the greatest risk and the greatest blessing.
@Elohim_Gadol I've had to unfollow a lot of people recently. I have doctrinal differences with many of the people I follow, and I believe we need to show grace in such cases, but I refuse to follow anti-semites.
@DPGBehler There's no point in even debating them at this point. I pray their love for Jesus outweighs their obsession with the invented Mary they revere. I pray they truly trust in Him for their salvation. I pray they read the Bible for themselves and understand who the biblical Mary is.
@tinitus303@lukeappleton Have you been to a school recently? They most assuredly DO teach that you must accept beliefs uncritically. The very assertion that all beliefs are equal is an uncritical belief system. However, schools DO discriminate against some beliefs. It's a highly hypocritical system.
