A rare and withering statement from @MSFAustralia
Accuses Israel of:
- "indiscriminate attacks"
- "a blanket attack on Gazans" that "defies... the rules of war"
- "The absolute trouncing of humanitarian values"
MSF Aus. Executive Director Jennifer Tierney joins me on PM @abcnews
@LynnDangAU @FilippoGrandi@UNrefugees Thank you so much for sharing your moving story with the room. And how wonderful your family was there to share the day with you. A privilege to be there, thank you.
. @StephenJonesMP Time for the Australian Government commit to increasing the offshore Humanitarian Program to 30,000 places per annum in the 2023-24 Budget, with the vast majority being visa subclass 200 (UNHCR referred) #Refugees#QandA#auspol
Dehumanizing refugees has terrible medical consequences. Highest rates of suicidology MSF has seen in youth, in Nauru. Under Australian responsibility. #QandA
(1/3) Following the strong #earthquake that hit mainly south-east #Turkiye (formally #Turkey) and north-west #Syria earlier today, #MSF teams have been responding in northern Syria since the early hours. #TurkeyEarthquake
@JenaFriedman Yup. But was it worth knowing that I’m just a little less valued as a woman than I thought I was because of how much toe curling pain I was asked to take on by my “support” while breast feeding in month 1? 9 years later I still have no clear answer to that question.
@atrupar As a member of a family that has dealt with addiction, it is the “I know you don’t either” part that reduces me to tears. He knew just what to say. I love you, I’m here for you, I don’t expect you to have the answers, I have no judgement. Pure love.
And because Martha’s Vineyard responded to this political stunt by mobilising quickly as a community to give 50 migrants shelter, rest, and dignity…it remains my favourite place on the planet. https://t.co/5Eu5DOHs9E
There remains more than 210 human beings held against their will in PNG and Nauru that are OUR legal and moral responsibility.
Yet there they remain. Suffering. Filled with despair. Nearly 10 years of their lives stolen by our Australian Government for being a refugee.
ENOUGH
I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of life & destruction caused by the #PakistanFloods#MSF began working in #Pakistan in 1986. Right now we are assessing the situation to see how we can best help. We will update our supporters as information emerges

Live: #Rohingya artists from #ARWDO unveiling new mural with #MSF to mark five years since the #Myanmar military campaign that forced 700,000 Rohingya people into #Bangladesh
@EBMgoneWILD My friend who was bringing her kids back to the US from Aus had to teach them what an active shooter drill was. That was the day I decided my kids aren’t going back. What a privilege to have that choice.
After a solid week of Australian schooling for my kids, I can say that my second favourite thing about schools here is school uniforms. It's amazing to not have to worry about outfits.
Of course, that's a distant second to the fact that they won't die in a shooting.
Did you know tomorrow will mark 5 years since the largest campaign of violence was waged against the Rohingya people in Myanmar?
Thousands were killed and more than 700,000 were forced across the border into Bangladesh. Here are 10 facts about the Rohingya you need to know. 👇
Many said #kidsoffnauru was impossible same goes for #Medevac, NZ deal, 16,500 places for Afghanistan & release of all refugees from Park Hotel. All were achieved by refugees never giving up & us standing with them. I’m confident real change is coming soon, just keep pressure up.
