Most people walk right past mullein without giving it a second thought.
This summer, these towering yellow flower spikes have appeared throughout Jennings Farm, attracting insects and adding unexpected beauty to the landscape.
Sometimes the most interesting things on the farm are hiding in plain sight.

@chigrl We have a hotdog shop, 1785 FarmDog. I can tell you ketchup is requested 2 to 1 over mustard here! Blew my mind, so we did a FB survey. Ketchup was like 70%.
@NutoTooo@JERICYINGLING1 Not possible. In the crop, there is only THCA available. The psychoactive effects would only come when it is decarboxylated. Even humans can consume all they want without getting high.
It’s not really that debatable- outdoor.
Columbia University did a study on this in 2023. You can look it up yourselves. But, most grow indoor because outdoor is illegal in most towns, security is harder, and Mother Nature is a beast.
Indoor is much easier, but outdoor is for the Purest.
Trust me, currently, I have no dog in this fight. NJ just shut down Full Spectrum, all-natural hemp, so I am boarded up this year. But, we grew outdoor for those reasons. It is hard, but the product is superior.
@chandra73464284 Hard to imagine a more corrupt, irresponsible and “destructive of these ends” Government than this. I am sure there is and I am sure ours can get worse, just hard to imagine is all.
Ever since I started farming I have been fighting the town the county, the state and federal governments. Raw milk, agro-education, USDA beef and now hemp.
For the people, by the people…. seems things are a bit disconnected right now.
I won’t farm marijuana, not that I can anyway in this town. But, sure easy to understand why the “black market” is thrice as large as the legal market.
Small farmers are getting screwed again!
