Congratulations to the lab trainees Ayowoleminiwa Towobola, Amal George and Tonye Jack who were willing to take on a highly interdisciplinary project. Thank you to @usask , @NSERC_CRSNG and BMIRF for funding this project.

Two for one kind of day, very happy to share the results of a homegrown @USaskResearch collaboration with Qiaoqin Yang's group. Here we share the tribological and antimicrobial characterization of nanocoatings for potential use on biomedical implants.
So happy to share the latest (and final) paper of Taiwo Erinle's PhD work. Our study focused on the impact of indigestible protein in weaned pigs. We looked at the potential for a blend of dietary fibre to mitigate the negative effects of high IDP in Salmonella-challenged pigs.
Although fibre was able to improve some aspects of health status, this didn’t result in an improvement in growth performance. We did, however, confirm that high IDP results in worse outcomes in challenged pigs, which we first observed in a previous study.
Santa came a bit early. Very excited to see Taiwo's paper is online shortly after his PhD defense. This is the first paper of an exciting collaboration with Dan Columbus looking at nutrition and infection outcome in post-weaning piglets.
We believe in supporting research that drives positive change. Enter a draw to win a waiver for open access publishing with no APCs or fees.
