Huge congrats to my student Teresa on winning a competitive NIH T32 MBID fellowship! 🧠✨
Because every big win deserves sweet rewards… it's a #cakeday in the lab! 🎂 @MIDatGSBS@MDA_UTHGrad
To help prevent and defend against antibiotic-resistant infections, two scientists—microbiologist Anna Konovalova (@KonovalovaLab) at @UTHealthHouston and synthetic chemist Tian Qin at @UTSWMedCenter—are developing new strategies to accelerate the development of bacterial vaccines with their WelchX grant. Their project aims to solve a critical bottleneck in infectious disease research: identifying surface-exposed proteins in gram-negative bacteria, which can cause deadly infections such as pneumonia and food poisoning. Retreat 2025 in the Piney Woods is in the books! We enjoyed 1.5 days of science and fun, with special thanks to our keynote speaker, Simon Dove, PhD, from Boston Children's Hospital. A relaxing and engaging time enjoyed by all👏👏! @MDA_UTHGrad
As we are freezing here in Houston, I really wish I was @BlastMeetings in Cancun right now! Stop by Samantha's poster to learn more about the signal transduction across the cell envelope!
