So a friend asked me what my novel is about, and I realized I hadn't come up with a new summary in... over a year? And I'd like to think I'm better at #writing than I was then, so I tossed together a new one.
This is uh... way too light-hearted for a serious comp submission. 😘

Rewriting a scene that needs to still adhere closely to the original structure is a SLOG. Oof. But I still got down 808 words this morning, and set up a section that will be more free-form, thankfully.

@Valerie_Storm She's a shapeshifter, so there's the obvious answers, though she's less inclined toward the overt actions that people tend to associate with shapeshifters, and more inclined towards subtlety, up to and including infiltration of others' bodies.

the canopy was not yet filled in enough to hide either, especially not along the established trails which she seemed to be following. Maybe he should just forego landing points entirely and do one continuous chain up above the canopy. 5/6
