@hajime20250823 Michigan has temps that hit 97F (36C) with high humidity which makes the actual temp close to 110F (43C) which isn't that bad compared to down south but we get temperature as low as -32F (-35C) with wind chill making it -50F (-45C)
One of the few to see more than 100° difference
@roikfbuwgc254 Hey I know that place!
I currently live about an hour south of it.
Fun fact: the Mackinac Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere.
Mackinaw Island is a tourist location which has banned cars from the island for the past 125 years
@hoshizorarock My friends, if there is one thing America does better than BBQ, it's blowing things up. Fireworks is what we do.
Here at my job we host an annual International Fireworks Competition, which sees 8 nations face each other to see who has the best show.
@MUKIDEZA2 I just saw a bald eagle flying overhead today when I was coming home from work.

We have some of the largest German, Polish, Cornish, and Arabic populations in the US.
So we have Perogies, Pastys, Kapsa, Etc.
But there are a lot of Michigan specific food/drinks like: Flint Coney Dogs, Detroit Style Pizza, and Faygo Pop
@nikutaberuru 👋
I have my own home that is around 1,900sqft (about 177 square meters) in a nice rural town in Michigan. Most of the Rural/Suburban population live in houses.
I also work as an Operations Manager for a large baseball stadium.
You know how they give cheetahs in the zoo a golden retriever as a companion to help with anxiety. I feel that the current Japan and USA interaction on Twitter is that.

The assassins will think twice before shooting you and the lawyers will hesitate to sue. 🫡
I have paid on one of my student loans for about 4 years now. The recommended payment each month. Never missed a month.
Looked at the balance. I have officially paid off $17 in 4 years.
Because interest is a bitch. This is why I think student loans should be 0% interest.
@4nt1p4tt3rn I bought my first home at 21 years old.
Sold it and bought a new home at 26 years old.
The trick? I got married at 19, combined our resources, lived in an area with a cheap housing market then got lucky.
Today? I couldn't buy a house at 21 in this current market, no way.
@ronrule Theme the inside as if it's that same mall from when the majority of the population was young (60s, 70s, 80s etc.) with some of the old brands "reimagined" as to avoid copyright
