In the gospels, you see Jesus get really harsh with those who use religion as a tool of oppression and self serving power.
You don’t see Jesus get harsh with anyone for showing too much forgiveness, giving too much mercy, having too much generosity, or loving others too much.
People over here assuming I'm this theologically super liberal, "assumes all the Bible is a metaphor" guy who has reduced Christianity to a nice idea.

one thing i love about jesus is that the people closest to him were often wrong about who he was but he still called them to follow him. so even if don't feel you believe all the right things about jesus, you can still follow him
