@techUKdepCEO Just interesting on first look - potentially sets up a more two way/reciprocal situation where redress is only available if a qualifying state allows flows to US and they meet a certain tbc level, and looks like qualifying states will be individual MS

Completely agree. EU MS national security laws no longer completely off the table in data transfer discussions which could be a game changer

Important that the data on R&D is accurate but I hope this revision doesn't provide an excuse to cut/revisit important funding commitments to increase R&D in the UK

New estimates of business R&D by @ONS now suggest that the UK has met the government target to spend 2.4% of GDP on R&D (which was based on the OECD average).

Lots of comment on this today. Let’s see what the new ‘British Data Protection Plan’ actually is + how different it is from the proposals that had already been published. There are some genuine improvements that can be made to UK data rules but ripping up GDPR is not the answer
