What is the goal of running actions? To make the defense make a decision!
I don't care what your offense is, but if the actions you run (ball screens, DHOs, 3 man actions, etc.) don't force any sort of defensive decision... it's just movement.
From there, it's our job to empower our players to make the defense wrong based on the decision that they make!
🔥 Our favorite constraint at Transforming Basketball
🧠 The "Floor is Lava" constraint creates better spacing by forcing players to escape the paint, encouraging smarter positioning and movement without the ball.
😄 Players love it. Coaches see results.

You’re talented… but you’re quiet.
And that’s the problem.
No voice = no leadership
No sound = no power
No energy = no impact
Everybody wants to be “nice”
Everybody wants to “do their thing”
That’s not how teams win.
Teams talk.
Teams connect.
Teams bring ENERGY every rep.
Nate Oats on his contract:
"When my salary goes up a half million dollars every year -- you know how long it took me to make a half million dollars at Romulus? I got paid 4,700 a year to coach basketball for 11 years."
Another excerpt:
“We are college basketball coaches. We have a great profession, and we have college basketball players who get paid to play basketball now. We need to normalize playing postseason basketball.”
