I have done a lot of reading on the subject of solar and Climate Change, but the one that best captures my mission and mindset is Freeing Energy by @bnussey Pick up a copy and maybe I'll get a few pennies:

@SolarInMASS I have great panels from Poland. I'm helping them scale up so that they can be cost-competitive. 65 cents per watt is not going to get it done.
@J_Rich1 I was courtside the other night. We watched you warm up. We'd love to see you in purple and gold, but best of luck regardless. Teach those kids!
@JeremySochan, I'll be courtside at your game against the Lakers on the 25th. I work for a Polish company and would love to have you sign something. Is that possible? I work with Adrian Stepien's cousin.
@Sammy_Roth We are getting closer to the day when ratepayers can bypass the utilities altogether and buy and sell their power on the wholesale market. There are already companies setting up for this.
@newtechmanager@RdSweeney@duncancampbell@solar_chase Wealthy people have also been subsidizing low-income ratepayers for years in the form of the CARE and FERA programs. Qualifying ratepayers receive a 30% reduction on their bill.
@harphacker1@newtechmanager@solar_chase@duncancampbell For renters, they typically have to get it done through their landlord, which is obviously a tough sell, although we get landlords all the time who add solar. They get the tax credits and their renters get the benefit of lower utility costs. Community solar is also an option.
@harphacker1@newtechmanager@solar_chase@duncancampbell Most banks apply a UCC fixture, which acts like a lien. If the customer refinances their house, the bank will remove it to allow the transaction, and then put it back after. The UCC-1 is technically a claim against the equipment, and not the house.
@harphacker1@newtechmanager@solar_chase@duncancampbell There are loans where homeowners can use their equity to qualify in lieu of a credit score. We avoid those unless that's the only way to get them financing. Most solar lenders require the borrower to have a 650 minimum credit score and they have to be on title.
@RdSweeney@duncancampbell@newtechmanager@solar_chase Not necessarily. Most bank programs for solar use stated income if the project is under $50k. Credit score is more of a factor in determining rates and fees.
@newtechmanager@solar_chase@duncancampbell I handle financing for my company and have processed over 1,000 solar loans. I have seen the incomes of the people who apply. 70% are low-income to middle-class.
@newtechmanager@solar_chase@duncancampbell The cost-shift argument against net metering is a flawed argument that the utilities and the IBEW use to try to get people to oppose net metering. A) Standard ratepayers have been subsidizing low-income ratepayers for years (CARE, FERA). B) Utility profit margins have increased.
