I actually agree with Sam Tarascio (billionaire owner), it's ridiculous that this has gone on so long.
The government needs to step in and say if you won't keep the market as a market and invest in it's future then we will compulsory acquire it.

He might be onto something here: how about we look at where the ratio of people to dwelling space is lowest (Toorak, for example), and start assigning people from the public housing waiting list to fill up the empty rooms there.
