Roman Anthony just left Polar Park.

[Jersey St. Journal @JerseyStJournal]

@Celtics_PRam @SoxPats2727 @TolleEnthusiast Unfortunately don’t think we’ll see Arias unless there’s a substantial injury. Middle infield is far too deep to justify putting him on the 40 man before a potential lockout.

[Jersey St. Journal @JerseyStJournal]

@SleeperRedSox @tommycassell44 “The boys”… You mean your bosses? Egotistical. Guy doesn’t have a single XBH in AAA

[Jersey St. Journal @JerseyStJournal]

@Celtics_PRam @SoxPats2727 @TolleEnthusiast I’d option Seigler for Anthony and wait til Sep 1st to call up Story. If/when Gasper comes back down to earth then bring IKF back up.

[Gordo @BOSSportsGordo]

The Yankees just lost, which means the Red Sox will open a four game set in the Bronx just 2 games behind the Yankees for the top Wild Card spot. Red Sox secure the season tie breaker as long as they win at least 2 games this weekend.

[Jersey St. Journal @JerseyStJournal]

@tommycassell44 He’s already better than them. Should be the other way around.

[Tyler Milliken @tylermilliken_]

Masataka Yoshida has officially been placed on the IL and Mickey Gasper is being recalled to take his spot, per @alexspeier.

Gasper has a slash line of .243/.305/.308/.613 in 34 big leagues this season. Good for a 70 wRC+.

[Brian @BrianMarsBars]

Obviously needs to have a very short leash if he just looks the same as he did in May but on the chance that performance could’ve been due to injuries, you’ve gotta give Story some run here. He could be a game changer if he looks at all like 2025 Trevor.

[MLB Hall of Pretty Good @hallofgoodpod]

I know it didn’t work out, but as a 12-year-old, I was a full-on believer in the Grady Sizemore epic comeback with the Boston Red Sox.

[Ian Cundall @IanCundall]

There’s still a ways to go, but Kristian Campbell looks like a different player than earlier in the season. Here’s an open-side look at his swing from April and then from tonight.

[John Martinello @martinello_john]

Throwing some information out there, do what you will with it:

Franklin Arias in Triple-A:
.313/.384/.563 (.947 OPS)

Kristian Campbell since July 1:
.351/.460/.543 (1.003 OPS)

[KutterIsKing @KutterIsKing]

SHOHEI OHTANI YOU ARE A BOSTON RED SOX

[Boston Strong @BostonStrong_34]

Trevor Story has been spotted in Worcester with the WooSox, unclear if it’s rehab related.

[Tyler Milliken @tylermilliken_]

Another day, another positive Roman Anthony update (via @alexspeier):

He continues to swing off the Trajekt in Fort Myers. Could begin a rehab assignment relatively soon.

No specific dates were mentioned, but said it wouldn’t be this weekend

Red Sox Lineup vs. Pirates. 8/14

[Gordo @BOSSportsGordo]

The Red Sox are going to talk through bringing Roman Anthony back to Boston from Fort Myers, Chad Tracy said today (via @timbhealey).

He’s getting closer to a rehab stint in Worcester or Portland.

[Punchoutpitch @Punchoutpitch]

Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy made it very clear the Red Sox are never being sold by John Henry and his family

"John Henry, Linda Henry, Henry family, are never selling the Boston Red Sox. And that’s a sound bite you can play forevermore. I’d bet anything on that.”

ALL I'LL SAY IS...

We can call Arias up on Saturday, and he'll retain rookie status in 2027

[Jared Carrabis @Jared_Carrabis]

I’ve seen enough. He’s ready.
