I keep saying it, but you'll need to congratulate yourself for staying in the markets.
It's been the most brutal bear market on #Altcoins until date.
If you're still around, great job.
The perfect storm for #Bitcoin at $500,000 and #Ethereum at $20,000.
The current sentiment of the markets is ultra bearish as the biggest daily capitulation in the history of the crypto markets has been taking place.
Understandable.
What's next?
Well, if your positions were into #altcoins, then you're completely vanished away in the past 6-12 months as the altcoins continued to be dragged down.
However, we're currently in an ecosystem that has the most bullish government ever standing behind the whole perspective of tokenizing all assets, decentralized ecosystems and the adoption of #Bitcoin into governments balance sheets.
That's quite often not a period where you'd be saying: I'm going to log out and I expect this market to be peaked. Far from it.
It's actually within the perfect storm of a bull market we've not seen before.
In that light, there are two examples of bull markets we've seen before that are comparable:
- 1995-1999 https://t.co/rFbY3kw4gd bubble where the internet boom expanded and a lot of valuations where going way higher than the expectations of most of the people participating in that markets.
- The 2017 crypto bubble. A very organic and typical bubble wave pattern that resulted into the expansion of Bitcoin to go to $20,000, where Ethereum peaked at $1,400.
Those are the prime examples and if this is going to be a 2017 version of the markets, the likelihood that we're witnessing a longer cycle has significantly increased, although longer will automatically also mean higher.
Bear market PTSD
The most confronting thesis is to be extremely bullish at those lows, as the markets have just witnessed a massive collapse across the board.
Feels weird, right?
It's the best to be extremely bullish at extreme lows where being extremely bearish at extreme highs is the opposite, but it's not what's being reflected in market sentiment.
What's being reflected in the market sentiment is actually the fact that we're either peaked or close to a peak with expectations of #Bitcoin not going to go higher than $150K.
The reason for this thesis is that people are stuck in the bear market phenomena from the past few years through which the N=1 thesis of diminishing returns starts to become the main priority of that thesis.
Completely moving aside the 180 turn of the U.S. and the constant inflow of institutions in the markets + banks starting to do custody for Bitcoin.
The adoption is bigger than ever.
This bear market PTSD phenomenon also happens in bull market euphoria, for instance participants in the real estate markets expect that we'll continue to have another multi-decade growth on the real estate markets, good luck with that.
Or me, where I was, just like most of the people, expecting the crypto markets to go higher in Q4 of 2021 resulting into higher returns, slightly taken by my personal enthusiasm. Didn't happen.
Macro-economic playing field
The tables might have shifted already as tariffs started to take into account, especially towards China.
China has some options: devalue the currency again to continue providing products to the U.S. and basically erase the entire tariff problem statement or they can stop focusing on the U.S. and start focusing on the internal, domestic markets to grow and become stronger as that's completely vanished in the past few years due to their policy.
Likely the latter is taking place and that would automatically result into the fact that China wants to sell their Dollars, purchase their own currency back and start strengthening the currency themselves to become solvent again.
That's therefore also turning the tables on the Treasury Bonds and Currency playing fields and when that happens, it's the key trigger for altcoins to start moving as they have a very strong correlation to a weak Dollar & Yields to flourish.
The U.S. Government is bullish on #Bitcoin
Listen, if there's a case where the U.S. government understands that it needs to become positive on the adoption of crypto, it's now.
- A Bitcoin strategic reserve.
- Institutions building financial products to get access to the entire market.
- A president buying millions into #Altcoins and Ethereum.
- Banks starting to do custody of Bitcoin.
And then next banks connecting with DeFi through which you'll receive a higher yield on your own assets.
It's literally what we wanted and what I wanted to see happen, when I joined the crypto markets eight years ago.
What's next?
I think that our recent podcast with @hendry_hugh outlined it perfectly.
Find it here:
https://t.co/UqoIq0gCg5
- Scenario 1: the big asset bubble takes place this year and everything crashes and resets to neutral. In that case the markets will have a standard 4-year cycle and we'll peak at the end of the year at $300-500K.
- Scenario 2: the bear market of altcoins has been longer than expected, so the entire 4-year cycle is going to diminish over time as other factors are more important to keep an eye on. In that case, we'll have 2 more years of bull markets to go with a fairly weak Dollar, copy/pasting the https://t.co/rFbY3kw4gd bubble where we'll see crypto provide the highest Beta in return. Bitcoin goes to $1M.
In either of the two cases, the inflection is still yet to start and Bitcoin is still neutrally valued, where the altcoins are criminally undervalued. The entire sector is criminally undervalued.
Stop complaining. Hold your assets, wait for a little and enjoy the final easy bull market of your life.
