@cesiscribbles that. I can accept this ending because, to me, it was an all or nothing decision.
AND I would have loved an ending where Jesus and Adam get to decide. Because Good Omens was always about humans doing the right thing. Fate didn't allow for a longer story....sadly.
@cesiscribbles So, in order to be really free, they HAD to accept the deatruction of that universe. Because every bit was planned. No real free will. God had always been scheming, planning or watching. Both Az and Crowley were subjected to their respective bosses. And all their pain came from
@Cliopadraart Development. This take is very personal, and I don't expect anyone to agree. But I think the ending fits, because I would have done the same. I would give so much for freedom. Free will for the whole world.
@Cliopadraart As someone who grew up in a religious environment (catholic), I had always related to Crowley and his ideology. To see his vision fulfilled, is gratifying. The fact that he stopped running. He stopped wanting to run away (with or without Aziraphale), is a huge character (2/3)
AND HAPPY PRIDE TO HIM TOO! GO3 having a queer Palestinian as their Jesus is genuinely generational casting!! Altered the course of my life fr fr 😁😁😁🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

Guys. They chose us over them. Are you forreal. They CHOSE HUMANITY. US. OVER THEIR OWN LIVES AND EXISTENCE. THEY CELEBRATE HUMANITY. THEIR WHOLE LIVES, THEY'VE TRIED TO PROTECT HUMANITY. THEY DIED FOR US. THEY DIED FOR OUR SINS.
You either abandon it, or you'll never be free. You either accept that part of you will die, or you'll forever be stuck without free will. And they chose to let go of everything they ever knew. Of everything that ever oppressed them and kept them from each other.
#go3spoiler#religioustrauma I think a lot of us are sad because it ended. Not because it didn't live up to our expectations, but the real grief is in it ending. And another aspect to consider: they had no other choice. Because that is what being oppressed by religion looks like-
They never fought for themselves. That was the point made in S2E6. Their love for humanity was bigger than anything else. It's what connected them.
With religion and Indoctrination, there is no easy way out -
