I'm excited to share that I've just started a new role as Project Officer for the South Cumbria Pine Marten Recovery Project with the University of Cumbria under Dr Mic Mayhew and Prof Ian Convery! 🦦🌿🏔️
We're excited to announce the birth of a second calf in the Blean Bison project! 🦬

When asked, most people (72.4%) living near lynx in Norway say they LIKE living with lynx. Just 8.3% say they dislike lynx. In Scotland – where we're currently denied the opportunity to live near lynx – the majority of people also WANT to see lynx reintroduced. #LynxToScotland
⭐️Alumni Spotlight: Jess Stevens, Zoology, class of 2021⭐️
Inspired by a tiger conservation documentary as a child, Jess always wanted to work with animals. She is now working on a project to reintroduce the red-billed chough to Kent.

After 200 years, red-billed choughs are flying around Dover Castle again! This is a milestone we've all been waiting for!
Thanks to the Castle staff and @EnglishHeritage for being so accommodating in our attempts to radio-track the birds and assess their wellbeing.
Far from being spooked by this atmospheric image, we are celebrating! The red-billed chough has reached Dover Castle 🐦⬛
We've been working with @KentWildlife supported by @CornishParadise and @EnglishHeritage to reintroduce the iconic species back to Kent!

It's great to have a short article of the @WildwoodTrust and @KentWildlife chough project, written by @jamesfairwild, in this season's "Wildlife World" magazine by @PTES as one of the many conservation projects they support.

Britain's ancient and special trees have negligible public protection or rights. Please sign this petition if you feel that should change.
It takes centuries to grow a tree, and only moments for someone to fell it.

Thank you
We’re delighted to announce that the Kentish Chough Project and Saving Devon's Native Crayfish Project have been awarded funding by @naturalengland’s #SpeciesRecoveryProgramme Capital Grant Scheme.

Loving working on this project the last few months! It's fantastic to combine a research approach using the biotelemetry tags from @LotekWireless and @SwanseaUni to investigate habitat use and movement patterns with the conservation and restoration of a flagship species!
Chough Celebrations across Kent 🐦⬛
@dovermuseum have curated a Chough Exhibit to celebrate the release of this iconic species back to Kent!
Also, local artist Greg Stobbs has painted a chough mural at the Canterbury Christ a church University’s North Holmes Road campus!
🐦Same bird but spot the difference!
👀Some of you eagle-eyed twitchers have asked if we mistakenly used Alpine Chough images instead of red-bills in our recent social media posts.
We can assure you the birds photographed are of the red-billed variety👇

📢There’ll be red-bills over the White Cliffs of #Dover!
👆Look up; after an absence of 200 years, choughs are back in the skies of Kent.
🐦This is possible thanks to a collaboration between us and @WildwoodTrust supported by @CornishParadise
