Very very excited to share this paper (click the below link)! We found that both perceived pathogen exposure *and* objective state mortality rates positively predict disgust levels, in FOUR countries! #AcademicChatter#AcademicTwitter#openaccess

Every year I read a lot of grad school applications from accomplished people that don't give me the info I'm looking for. It feels like a major hidden curriculum thing. So here's (my opinion on) how to write a great Statement of Purpose/Research for a PhD program. 🧵 1/
#TLDR so what are the main take aways? SOI is related to disgust, but we need more nuanced research! future studies should look at these questions longitudinally, and continue to assess disgust and sociosexual domains individually to zero in on these results. lets get to work!
Very excited to share my team's most recent publication on #disgust & #sociosexuality! We looked to see if disgust sensitivity predicted sociosexual desire, attitude, and behavior SEPARATELY – an important replication and extension of past research 🦠

Additionally, we found the the relationship between disgust sensitivity & sociosexual behavior was indeed mediated by sociosexual attitude and desire. Might seem like common sense, but a pretty cool finding nonetheless 🧠
ok I was excited when I first saw this, but I’m even MORE excited to listen at least 5 more times. Shout out to Dr @TinaLasisi for breaking down the science, history, and current implication of #HairResearch! Looking out for the next one with y’all @jvn

I’m an asst professor @UBuffalo studying slow lorises, primate behavioral evolution, movement and sensory morphology. I love going to the field, thinking about data and working with great students. #primatology#BiBARollCall#BiBAWeek2022#itsmybirthday
@HKBradshaw just gonna leave this here -- we also compared pre- and during-pandemic samples AND looked at perceived and objective pathogen exposure and all samples :)
