Recordings are now available from my Preservation Week talks last week! Check them out if you’re curious about housing plastics in libraries & archives or how interviews with book artists have shaped our preservation strategy. https://t.co/BSStuVHxlK
A copy of your institution's emergency plan is super useful to have on hand in the event of a collection emergency. What are you doing to prepare for #MayDayPrep? https://t.co/C5RTM1GCDe via @teamconserv
@anishagupta_@sairarias@conservators Same! I had to manually add the talks into my calendar. I hate that I can’t add events to my profile & there’s no way to search by people’s name for talks. The “only registrants can attend” button is misleading and I almost registered twice by mistake!
Yet another Asian person has been brutally assaulted in NYC and now lies in a coma. New Yorkers, until you recognize that deep seated hatred of Asians lies at the heart of many of you, there is no healing and no hope. #StopAsianHate https://t.co/8T16DejdIi
@robeania Just “nope we’re gonna stick with Peking thanks” never mind what you people from there call it in your article THAT WE REFERENCE. This is published in a peer reviewed medical journal. The same article is cited by the CDC in their updated COVID guidelines.
Oh you’re a conservator? Can you tell me how much this very important framed and signed photo I found on the side of the street is worth? It’s a photocopy you day? That just can’t be...
@FoundInMuseums I’m having my own flashbacks of racism experienced at a former museum job. I hold the organization accountable for maintaining a culture of fear and secrecy. It’s hard to speak out when we fear that we’ll be gaslighted and lose our jobs.
I don’t know what’s more sickening. A man beating a woman half his size because of her race or another man choosing to close the door on her suffering. But guess what. We’re not going “back” to anywhere. We belong here. #StopAsianHate https://t.co/Hm5mhCy4h2
So cool to see our LibGuide on handing of library materials during COVID cited by @CCAHAconserve in their Incorporating Pandemic Preparedness in Institutional Emergency Plans webinar! And yes I always keep a bar of chocolate under my monitor.
@RepMTG I reported this to Twitter as being abusive to a protected category of people, and encourage others to do so as well. You’re a bully who wouldn’t understand science if it sat on your head.
@eliz_ott @notanjanette MLPL is a reaction to understaffing & backlog. Conscientious collecting, an acquisition policy that aligns with institutional mission, accounting for preservation & archives for accession & maintenance of the collections will decrease that backlog.
