@nesta_uk@martinwhite33 Congratulations! I'm thrilled this has got off the ground whilst Ive been on maternity leave. I look forward to working with you when I return to my research role in Defra in September.
@bovinetb@NaturalEngland I think so. We didn't use only one data source for reliability reasons. As stated, our approach of bringing together info from RBCT, industry culls & trapping experts aims to provide info from a range of badger populations, making findings broadly applicable & more reliable.
@barleydrifter We couldn't statistically test to what extent it happens as we didn't have much data on sett use or individual badgers post cull. Lots of the experienced trappers said that culled badgers range more widely, see section 3.5 of the paper.
What's it like to vaccinate badgers in a post-cull landscape? New paper analyses trapping efficiency, levels of effort required, and how trappers adapt their practices to the lower density & more mobile badger population #tbfree#Badger https://t.co/NUMwryAxtk

@RuthieLittle@DefraGovUK I'm really looking forward to having you join our (ex) academia & gov social research contingent at Defra. There's quite a few of us! I'm always here if you want anything.
Today was my last day as Head of Social Research for Agri-Food Chain at Defra for 1 year as I am now on maternity leave. I will likely be less active on twitter during this time, and will instead be trying to keep a baby alive! I know amazing work will continue in my absence.
