@TheForumAH@idigitalnhs Wow - how amazing was that?! ๐คฉ We had a very busy takeover day looking at only a small portion of the 350 jobs within the #NHS. We learnt so many fun things & it was amazing to bring you along with us. If you missed anything from the #ForumTakeover, check out from our summary ๐
@TheForumAH Alder Hey uses A LOT of digital systems to keep the hospital up & running ๐ฅ We went on a walk around with @idigitalnhs to make sure everything was working as it should. We even got to go to the helipad to see how young people come from the air ambulance into the hospital! ๐
@TheForumAH Now letโs interview Lisa Cooper! ๐ฃ๏ธ Lisa is the Director of the Community and Mental Health division at Alder Hey, she supports us in a number of ways as she is our biggest fan ๐ Find out why she'd prefer to eat a bowl of live worms below! ๐คข @TheForumAH
Now, to Radiology ๐ฆด where we got to see different scans and machines. They all had funny names like 'MRI', 'CT' and 'ultrasound'. We donโt know what any of them stand for, but the team explained what they do and let us try them for ourselves. It was so cool! ๐
@TheForumAH@idigitalnhs Weโre holding an induction evening on Wednesday 4th December from 5.30-7pm. Come along to learn more about @TheForumAH. If you have any questions, you can email [email protected], or go to: https://t.co/dGjJSHX9xJ
We wanted to find out more about the brill @AlderHeyCharity, so we went to the on-site shop. We got to learn how to work a till, meet some of the people who support our charity, and even got to make our very own Christmas display๐ which you can still see in the hospital today!
@TheForumAH We then went to help the @PatientTeam at the hospital reception desk, this is where people come if they have any questions or need directions ๐๐ The team are amazing & help support everyone in the hospital - we wish we could this everyday because we got to make people happy! ๐
@TheForumAH We were starrrrvinโ so we visited catering to find out what happens behind the scenes of the hospitalโs restaurant! ๐งโ๐ณ We got to go into the kitchen & stock rooms & it was really nice to meet all the kind staff who help feed the whole hospital. We even got a nice snack! ๐
Next stop, physio and hydrotherapy (basically a big swimming pool!) ๐โโ๏ธ We learnt a lot, tried some exercises and also looked at how staff support younger children to get in if they donโt like water! @AlderHeyPhysio
Our next stop is the Executive office, where we interviewed John, Nathan & Kate ๐ We all really enjoyed this as we could ask all our burning questions, like how our voices influenced the 2030 strategy & what the future looks like ๐
A bit about us... We're a diverse group of 8 to 18 year olds who use our voices to influence Alder Hey. We work together to help Alder Hey keep children and young people at the heart of everything they do. Also, weโre awesome! ๐โ๏ธ

Our first stop is theatres! ๐ท We went into one of the many amazing theatres at Alder Hey where we got to have a closer look at what happens there. We wanted to do a head transplant, but they said no! โน
Fantastic visit to @AlderHey to meet with colleagues and the brilliant youth forum. Great discussion about waiting times, medicine shortages and the need for excellent communication with young people on waiting lists. Great visit.
Happy 5th birthday Dream Team ๐ฅณ hereโs to many more years of you all taking over and making sure CYP Voices are heard and acted upon ๐ฅฐ
