India has a strange blind spot when it comes to eggs. For starters, we have, against all common sense, declared it non-veg, which automatically comes attached with moral baggage, and then on top of that, even in families that eat meat, the idiotic idea that eggs are “heating” (taseer) reduces its daily/weekly consumption.
Meanwhile this is my walk from Lower Parel station everyday. Only one city has been bombed out of these two. Thank you @mybmc@MTPHereToHelp@mybmcWardGS
When I was in college, I had all these romanticized, starry eyed dreams about living in big Indian cities, esp Bangalore. Studied in Bombay, moved to Bangalore to chase my founder dreams.
Four and a half years later (1.5 in Bombay, 3 in Bangalore), I'm genuinely asking: what's the point?
Everything is a hassle. Everything.
Finding walking space on roads. Breathing clean air. Escaping noise pollution. Getting drinkable water. Meeting friends who live an hour away in traffic.
The only way to live a "semi-decent" life is to lock yourself in a private gated society with its own gym, walking paths, supermarkets, so you never have to step outside into the actual city.
And I'm sitting here thinking: I worked my ass off for this? I'm supposedly in the top 1% by income in India, and this is what I get? It feels like India is only designed for the 0.001% who can afford their own bungalows with private gyms, water filtration systems, the whole nine yards. Everyone else is just... optimizing for the least shitty version of urban existence.
Is this what I dreamt about when I was planning my future?
Or is it just wiser to leave?
Spanish Government using public money vs. Indian Government using public money.
This country is run by primates because of a majority of emotional primates and the rest of the evolved population are forced to watch a circus.
1. How can some fu*king IAS/OAS officer decide what people should eat or not eat?
2. Why Republic Day? It's not even a religious festival
3. Even if it's religious, who is govt and administration to decide what people can eat on which day?
Going to say it again. Research in Ayurveda is a fraud on the nation and its people. 5000 years and nothing to show for it. People who support Ayurveda and its promotion should be ashamed of themselves for being a hindrance to real progress in medical science.
In countries, people fight to open medical colleges. Here, people celebrate shutting one down in their city. Undeniably one of the greatest twelve years of achievement under BJP. Welcome to the de facto Hindu Rashtra. Congratulations, India.
The joke is on you. 🤌🏾
