Became a National Champ this past weekend at the 10k Road Champs (@CowHarbor10k). 🥹🐮
Until this year, I had never competed in an Olympic Trials or won a US title.
A win & course record was a special way to end this racing block before the @nycmarathon. 1/

My @BostonGlobeSports story on the performance of Jess McClain at today's Boston Marathon, where four American women finished in the top ten for the first time since 2007.

History in Boston 🇺🇲🚨
Jess McClain (2:20:49) and Zouhair Talibi (2:03:45) run the fastest times ever by Americans on the Boston Marathon course.
Both finish fifth overall 👏
@ProfTimNoakes Per David Roche, “That also shows how important carbs are. Miss that bottle, and she misses 40 grams of carbs. That's not possible when history is on the line. She ended up averaging around 100 g/hr if we count the gel right before the race start.” Regarding Jess McClain
Xavier Prep alum Jess McClain was the top American female finisher in the Boston Marathon on April 20, 2026. Here's the record she set. https://t.co/QKRVDGLROW

Teamwork makes the dream work 🤝
Before Susanna Sullivan (@susannasullivan4) boldly began front-running her way toward a fourth-place finish in the #wchtokyo25 marathon, she and @brooksrunning teammate Jess McClain (@jesstonn) stuck close together and shared words of encouragement that also supported Jess on the way to her eighth-place finish in Tokyo 💙
Who said running isn’t a team sport?!

Let’s hear it for Jess McClain 🥹
After narrowly missing the Olympic team with fourth place finishes in both the marathon and 10K at the 2024 Trials, Jess McClain gets her biggest breakthrough yet — finishing as the top American in Boston with a personal best of 2:22:43!
The top three USA woman at the #BostonMarathon, @JessTonn (7th, 2:22:43), Annie Frisbie (8th, 2:23:21), and Emma Bates (13th, 2:25:10).

One key differentiator for elite performers?
They don’t see it as a sacrifice.
Going to bed early, skipping the party, putting in hours of practice—
That’s not giving something up.
That’s living in alignment with what they care about most.
