I sat in the House of Lords & heard Labour say they were cutting the PE budget in schools on Tuesday & by the Wednesday had the audacity to say they were investing in children’s physical & mental well being!
Votes for 16 y.os is yet another encroachment upon childhood. We expose our young people to far too much as it is - something that has been detrimental to their health & wellbeing. Now, we will ask them to unnecessarily shoulder more responsibility. We should know better.
Starmer is on the verge of giving criminals like burglars, thugs and stalkers an 80% reduction on their sentence.
Yes, you read that right.
The British public never voted for this.
So in October, @bphillipsonMP and the labour party were using a report from the National Audit Office to demonstrate how broken SEND services were in our state schools.
@bphillipsonMP and @UKLabour were posting the findings of this report far and wide in order to demonstrate why they needed to improve these services and how it was a priority to do so.
Today, the government and speaker of the house (who is supposed to be impartial let's not forget) spent taxpayers money on KC's to argue that this very same report they were shouting from the rooftops about, should not have been admissible as evidence in court during the school fee VAT legal cases. Namely because it supports the argument that the state cannot cope with the influx of thousands more children requiring SEND provision.
Apparently, after months of relying on this report and its figures for their own purposes and justification, the speaker, government and Bridget Phillipson have now decided they don't agree with the figures in it.
The rank hypocrisy from @bphillipsonMP is astounding.
I also think any pretence that the speaker @LindsayHoyle_MP is impartial has also now evaporated, if it hadn't already.
We’ll just leave these here…
Congratulations @RWestbrook1 on a fabulous career, and thanks for all the speed when we called upon it. A great teammate, a great competitor and a great friend. Enjoy your last Petit Le Mans!
