SATAN isn't a literal figure, he's a symbol for the ego, tempting the awareness to surrender its attention, will, and command.
In early scripture, he wasn't a cosmic evil force, he was the voice of doubt within, the resistance that opposes your higher self.

Your body is a kingdom, and the ego is a false king, seizing authority that was never its own. You need this. You deserve that. They disrespected you. These are temptations, because the ego exists to preserve itself, not to serve your growth.

Christ symbolizes pure awareness, consciousness watching without attachment. Not the thoughts themselves, not the impulses, but the witness behind them. This is gnosis. This is the kingdom of heaven within, not a future reward, but a present state of consciousness.

The kingdom of heaven is like a man warring against his enemies within. The enemies aren't external, they're unchecked desire, the reactive mind, identification with the body.

The war is internal. Mastery is the only victory.

Every temptation is the ego trying to negotiate with your awareness, eat more, buy that, take revenge, seek validation. It isn't evil. It's mechanical, the body's program executing. Your task is simply to witness it, not obey it.

Adam's fall wasn't about fruit. It was about consuming the knowledge of good and evil trading the unity of consciousness for the mind's duality. We've been fallen ever since, identified with the ego, exiled from the witness.

Christ's teaching was never salvation from sin, it was liberation from identification. The cross marks where spirit meets matter, the point where you stop serving the body and remember what you actually are, awareness itself.

The resurrection was never a historical event to believe in, it's a psychological death and rebirth. You die to ego identification and rise again as pure awareness. It happens in meditation. It happens in presence. It's available to you now.

If Satan is only ego, and Christ only your own awakened awareness, priests and rituals become unnecessary, you are your own savior.

That truth was too dangerous for hierarchical religion, so it was literalized, externalized, weaponized into fear.
