No one is buying the hasbara anymore. The Geneva Conventions do NOT give Israel a blank check to destroy civilian infrastructure. Every attack must meet the requirements of military necessity, proportionality, and precautions to protect civilians. Hospitals have additional protections. Where is the independently verified evidence that every hospital and building destroyed was a legitimate military target? And how does the length of a tunnel justify killing civilians? That’s not how international law works.
You keep equating opposition to Israel’s military actions with wanting Israeli civilians killed. That’s a dishonest argument. Under international law, combatants are legitimate military targets. Civilians are not, whether they’re Israeli, Palestinian, or Iranian. You condemn attacks on Israeli civilians while making excuses for the killing of Palestinian civilians. That’s the hypocrisy at it’s finest.
Israel did not “give” Palestinians Gaza. Palestinians already lived there. Israel withdrew its settlers in 2005 but maintained control over Gaza’s airspace, sea access, and key borders.
Ethnic cleansing is the deliberate removal of a population through force, intimidation, or coercion. The UN reports that more than three-quarters of Gaza’s housing has been damaged or destroyed. Palestinians have been forcibly displaced, with many unable to return to their homes.
Human Rights Watch has explicitly described Israel’s actions as ethnic cleansing, and the International Association of Genocide Scholars has concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the definition of genocide.
And look at what’s happening elsewhere. More than 33,000 Palestinians remain displaced from refugee camps in the West Bank, with Israel preventing their return. In southern Lebanon, Israel has demolished homes, destroyed major bridges, and explicitly restricted displaced residents from returning.
Destroying communities, displacing their populations, and preventing their return are precisely the kinds of actions that raise concerns about ethnic cleansing.
How exactly does Israel withdrawing its settlers from Gaza 21 years ago excuse any of that?
@DBM44_44@7Veritas4@RitchieTorres It doesn’t matter. Americans can spend the money with American companies. When we are at a deficit we should not be handing money out.
@yonibruk@ProjectBurpees@RitchieTorres That is extremely misleading in the four years that the Ukrainian war has gone on there have been less than 20k civilian deaths. Try harder.
@DanTheZionist@HaleyforMI No it puts money into the pockets of weapon manufacturers. No more foreign aid to any countries until our country isn’t at a deficit. There isn’t anything racist about it.
@CartoonFlophous@AJEnglish Who ends up the money is irrelevant. American taxpayers are still paying billions toward Israel’s military costs, freeing up Israel’s own money for healthcare, education, and social programs. That’s an indirect subsidy. Those billions could be spent on Americans instead.
October 7 was an atrocity, but it doesn’t justify atrocities against Palestinians. Labeling an entire population hostile, pretending evacuation warnings excuse civilian deaths, and claiming every destroyed building was a Hamas base is propaganda, not evidence. Destruction is not proof of terrorism. The Geneva Conventions apply to Israel too. You can condemn Hamas without excusing war crimes. People aren’t falling for this hasbara anymore.
@FirecrackerAvi@MarioNawfal No one is buying this BS anymore. They lollokololllifl loop have seen the truth with their own eyes. Once the boomers are gone there will kbe no more US support for Israel. Clocks is ticking.
Your claim that Israelis have never killed Christian citizens is false. In 2005, an Israeli soldier murdered two Christian Israeli citizens, Michel Bahous and Nader Hayak.
And murder isn’t the only form of violence. Christians have faced physical assaults, harassment, spitting, and vandalism of their churches and cemeteries.
So explain to me why you think any of that is acceptable. Why must Christians be raped or murdered before their mistreatment matters? And why do you keep distinguishing between Israeli citizens and Palestinian Christians? Do Palestinian Christians deserve fewer human rights?
Israel had Hamas’s detailed 40-page attack plan, known as “Jericho Wall,” more than a year beforehand. It described the exact methods Hamas ultimately used. Intelligence officers also warned that the attack could happen on a Sabbath or Jewish holiday.
So why were troops along the Gaza border operating with reduced holiday staffing on October 7? The IDF later acknowledged that these staffing practices contributed to its failures and changed its leave policies.
I’m not claiming that proves Israel deliberately allowed the attack. But why were so many warnings ignored, and who was responsible for those decisions? Have they been held accountable? They should be hung right alongside of Hamas.
