I got asked today if the events at the Capitol make me regret my vote for Trump. No, they do not. They make me more certain I was right. I never voted for Trump *for Trump*. I voted for Trump because the Democrats were already proving they intend to abuse their power. Indeed.
@AmandaGeaney Yes! A very easy/light read. Hadn’t heard of Mrs Calvin before picking up this book, but we liked the name so much that we chose it for our first daughter 😊
“Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man.” — Walter Williams, RIP
Isn’t this taking money from the ‘poor’ (blue collar folks with jobs who pay taxes) and giving it to the comparatively ‘rich’ (folks who went to college to get a white collar job and live in more expensive cities?). The bigger question I have is- why is college so expensive??
Big same. Too many people jealously guarding against others receiving a benefit that they didn't, even if there's no material impact to them either way, is a mentality that holds our society back.
@iamethanmartin I am 100% PRO higher ed reform. But I’m also 100% against the entitlement mentality that is also a pervasive problem with our society (I think).
