I'm so happy to receive this New Investigator award - we are excited to get to work on this project and understand metal tolerance in our fungal-pine system!
Ectomycorrhizal fungi are important underground partners of forest trees. @JessicaFletch_r of @CUDenver will investigate how these fungi can protect pines from metal contamination in soil. @sarambranco @Wanghaihua5@Sunnyhl158 (5/13)
Thanks to @evoltreeNW for letting me give a flash talk on my research before @sarambranco gave an awesome seminar about her career spanning work on fungal diversity.
We read this cool Mycobacterium tuberculosis article this week at our journal club. They used experimental evolution (for 2 years!!) and WGS to identify convergent adaptation in biofilm inducing conditions! @Dr_Flanman check this one out

I had my final six month review with my supervisors today (hopefully)! I find it helpful to take a look back at what you have done and to create a plan for the future. I'm feeling positive about the next few months of the PhD process!
The first woman Provost in the 429 year history of Trinity College Dublin has been elected. I'm proud to have been able to cast my PG vote for @LindaDoyle. Great things are coming!
Thank you for placing your trust in me. I am honoured to be Provost-elect @tcddublin. Letโs do amazing things during the next decade! #ImagineTrinity
If you have to go into the lab on a bank holiday, you have to make sure to treat yourself on the way home. Today I picked up some freshly baked pastries from Bread41.
