@AliceqzUW Before this year I mainly used twitter for memes and to look at dog pictures. I'm glad I have expanded my knowledge of what is on the platform, and will definitely continue to use it for academic and news purposes in the future! #Envir492
@EmilyForsberg6 Agreed! This quarter passed by so quickly, let alone the past four years. I'm a bit anxious to see what's to come, but excited at the same time. #Envir492
Congrats to my Capstone cohort for nearly being done! Thanks to @pseanmc for being so understanding and for helping us throughout the year with our internships and capstone tasks. Good luck everyone! Thanks for a great capstone experience. #Envir492๐ฒ
Even though I don't normally share my thoughts on twitter, this engagement assignment that has lasted throughout my capstone experience has helped me see the benefits to social media for networking and even research needs. #Envir492#PoeCap
As I go into the last week of my undergrad experience, I'm faced with more challenges than simply just academics. Right now is a time for real change, and I plan to take what I have learned throughout my time at UW with me in making a positive impact.#Envir492#BlackLivesMatter
@farmer_nat Agreed! I was really nervous going into it, but felt pretty calm once I started. Even though there were the inevitable awkward silences, I didn't actually feel that awkward from them! It was great being able to hear from my site supervisor and faculty advisor again too. #Envir492
Wanted to give a shoutout to @pseanmc for being so understanding during these times & putting many efforts into making a virtual capstone symposium for us this year. It was crazy on his end, which allowed for smooth sailing on the presenters side of things. Thanks Sean! #Envir492
Even though the Symposium was different this year compared to other years, I had a great partner with a very informative presentation to live tweet about, and had a good time listening to the different questions asked throughout the presentation. #PoECap
The final remarks given by @RomanelliSophia in her presentation acknowledged the strength and resilience of Alaska Native Villagers in a changing world. #PoECap
"Everything that happens here is going to happen everywhere else". This quote from a Newtok Tribal Village Leader from Alaska shows the importance of prioritizing climate change investment in agencies. #PoeCap
Not only could the framework and results help specific Tribal Communities in Alaska currently needing to take action due to Climate Change impacts, but they will also help future communities that experience relocation due to a changing climate. #PoECap#ClimateChange
Apart from the framework created, there were also some additional supporting foundational elements, including community knowledge and leadership that could be implemented to further create proportional Tribal Representation #PoECap
From the research and interviews, @RomanelliSophia created a proposed agency framework, dedicated to Successful Climate Adaptation. This framework had foundations of Effective Communication, Tribal and U.S Federal Government, and Past, Present, and Future Perspectives. #PoECap
Her research question: What are the structural requirements necessary in a new federal agency to provide successful support for Tribal climate change adaption? Was answered by multiple methods; from interviews, western science research, and a traditional knowledge review. #PoECap
Erosion is destroying infrastructure in Alaska due to the melting of permafrost from rising temperatures. This article gives some more information on Alaska Natives facing the complications of rising temperatures. #poecap

When relocating villages due to climate change, there are many requirements for relocation, that are covered by separate government entities. The figure below shows some of the different groups that each play a different role in assisting relocation strategies! #PoECap
