through social media it brings people all around the world together such as global protest like march for our lives to end gun violence or the march for climate change #lesson12
A negative aspect to youtube, however, is that the content creators may be perceived as being real or raw but in reality they have paid sponsorships telling them to promote certain products by saying they're amazing when in reality they don't actually believe that #lesson12
Youtube is also a great online tool for helping people communicate globally and allowing people to view other peoples perspectives since YouTube videos are more real compared to standard news #lesson12
Youtube is a great source for finding new information or trying to comprehend something that you find challenging, it has helped me numerous times understand class material that I couldn't grasp from the teacher #lesson12
I think that gender and racial/ethnic portrayals in Disney films are evolving such as the film frozen for example, but there are still underlying stereotypical messages in these films and we still have a way to go before this is completely eliminated #lesson11
@EStamegna I agree the racism is very obvious in these films i can't even imagine how a little kid must feel seeing their ethnicity depicted in such a negative way
I don't believe that we should just boycott Disney because as a child I loved Disney and I still do but I still believe that the newer movies should include more diversity and less stereotypes so it creates inclusion for all children #lesson11
@joshblack06@Mariah53458851 I don't think that it is nitpicking since the lack of diversity we are discussing in this situation is nearly half the population, I believe that every child should feel like that they are being represented equally and not subjected to racial or gender based stereotypes
@BiancaLaplante No i don't think Disney represents enough ethnicities in their movies and if they do represent anyone who isn't white they are portrayed as either the villain or the characters feed into their ethnic stereotype
@AudreyAnnRodri2 i agree with you Disney needs to start creating a variety of characters that demonstrate are more realistic body image so every kid can relate to them and feel beautiful
after viewing this documentary I didn't realize how many racist underlying messages and portrayals there are in Disney as a kid i never noticed it, it makes you think what our kids are exposed to #lesson11
@BriannaCaticch1 @yacineAitSlima1 I definitely agree with you I think that feminism should be taught more in our school or at least the history of feminism to try and squash this misconception
