We got problems, folks‼️ Not only is the track centerline in Texas now, it is well north of the international border. As such, Beryl is going to spend more time over the Gulf than previously thought. This is going to delay landfall until after dawn on Monday, and bring it to roughly the midpoint between Brownsville and Corpus Christi, TX. It should be a well-established Cat-1. Anticipated winds upon arrival have increased slightly to 85mph. Folks along the S TX coast will have impactful storm surge and freshwater flooding. Minor tree and structural damage from high wind is possible wherever Beryl’s eyewall ends up. This would be roughly the same region and intensity as Category-1 Hurricane Hanna in 2020.

Folks living and vacationing on S Padre to Port Mansfield to N Padre to Port Aransas to Port O’Connor be advised that coastal flooding should start late Sunday and continue into Tuesday. It will be more significant closer to the center and on the northern side of Beryl. Noticeable beach erosion will be likely with the worst surge.
