ICE shot a man in Marble Hill today, with a five-year-old child inside his car.

We still don't know why agents opened fire. What we do know is that a man was wounded, a child was endangered, and an entire community was terrorized.

This is not public safety. We demand answers, an independent investigation, and accountability for ICE's violence in our neighborhoods.

A healthier New York starts with making sure people have the support they need beyond the doctor’s office.

I joined Public Health Solutions, Met Council, and community partners to celebrate an incredible milestone: 750,000 New Yorkers screened through WholeYouNYC for wraparound services, connecting people to food, housing, transportation, and other essential support.

This is what whole-person care looks like and we need the program renewed.

A cleaner neighborhood starts with taking care of our shared public spaces.

After I requested action from the MTA, the 74th Street area was power washed last night, helping keep one of our busiest transit hubs cleaner for our neighbors, commuters, and local businesses.

I’m glad to see action being taken, and I’ll continue advocating for cleaner, safer public spaces in our community. 💪🏽

These are our neighbors who died on September 11, 2001.

They lived in Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst, Corona, Elmhurst, and Woodside. They belonged to families who still carry their loss and to a community that remembers them.

Twenty-five years later, we remember each of them by name. We hold their loved ones close. And we remain grateful to the first responders and ordinary New Yorkers who ran toward danger to help others.

May their memories always be a blessing. We will never forget.
