No Governor in New York history has done more to protect the Jewish community than @GovKathyHochul.
Honored to host the Governor this morning for her “buffer bill” signing in front of 500 guests @MetCouncil’s annual legislative breakfast.
👏👏👏
It’s simple: we need MORE Jewish leadership in New York.
@MetCouncil’s inaugural Legislative Shabbat dinner brings together the next generation of Jewish leaders + elected officials who show up for our community.
Grateful to @EricDinowitz, for leading Shabbat dinner. 🙏
This is our newest initiative to build community and young leadership in NYC.
Why the Pope’s teaching resonates for Jews:
5/ Torah values: the image of God in every person, the dignity of work, the obligation to protect the vulnerable.
Chesed and tzedakah aren’t “charity,” they’re justice, built into how we treat workers, the poor, and the less fortunate
1/ Pope Leo XIV’s new encyclical or teaching on AI opens with a line that resonates with Jews:
Human beings are created in the image of God.
From that foundation, he builds the most important religious statement to date on AI about work and human dignity.

AI won’t just eliminate jobs.
It will eliminate purpose for millions of Americans.

No governor in America is leading on AI like @GovKathyHochul.
While others wait, she’s out front.
Honored to be appointed to Hochul’s FutureWorks Commission, serving w @TomPerez.
At @MetCouncil we pay our staff to learn AI.
Because AI should empower workers, not replace them.
“People have a right to worship free from harassment and intimidation.”
@GovKathyHochul didn’t flinch.
She doubled down on a buffer zone around synagogues in front of a sold-out @JCRCNY and got a standing ovation from Jewish community leaders.
Talk is cheap. Action matters.
Abe Foxman "was the kind of leader that all of us aspire to be," says @MetCouncil CEO @NYCGreenfield. "He really shaped modern Jewish leadership today...There was only one Abe Foxman." A moving tribute to our former National Director.
Met Council CEO @NYCGreenfield said the longtime ADL head “really shaped modern Jewish leadership today.”
Greenfield said Foxman “was the kind of leader that all of us aspire to be.”

My friend and mentor, @MetCouncil board member Abe Foxman, passed away surrounded by family and friends.
He was one of the great Jewish leaders of the last century, fighting on behalf of the Jewish people until the very end.
May his memory be a blessing.
As @MetCouncil board member, Abe came to nearly every event simply to show his support.
Just a few weeks ago, he came with his grand daughters to volunteer.
Public leaders don’t always match who they are in private.
Abe was even better in private. BDE
Just a few short weeks ago, I joined Abe Foxman at @MetCouncil to pack food for families in need.
I'm shocked and saddened that he is gone.
Abe spoke with moral authority earned from a lifetime of serving others.
May his memory be a blessing.

Real friends don’t bail when things get hard.
@GovKathyHochul has doubled down on her support of the Jewish community when others have gone quiet. That’s leadership.
Grateful to be recognized by @CityAndStateNY as a Power 100 leader for our leadership on AI policy.
@MetCouncil we are all in on AI.
We’re PAYING staff to learn AI.
We’re using it to help people faster.
We’re building a $25M AI-powered food warehouse.
We’re using AI for good.
✡️ Belaaz Interview: David Greenfield @NYCGreenfield of the Met Council speaks with Belaaz on the use of AI to maximize tzedaka and chessed.
Greenfield says the organization has invested “well over a million dollars” in AI over the past year alone, structured across three distinct tracks: staff training, departmental AI budgets, and curated technology partnerships with outside companies.

Thanks to the over 100 staffers, 800 volunteers, 1,000's of donors and 55 elected officials who helped make this happen, with an assist from AI.

Last year: 185 sites.
This year: 250 sites.
One MILLION more pounds of free kosher food for Passover.
How did we pull it off?
Artificial Intelligence.
We used AI to give out more free food to more people than ever before in our history.
Watch @NYCGreenfield explain how:
Proud to join fellow elected officials in partnering with @MetCouncil and @UnitedJewish to make this weekend’s Passover food distribution in Navy Yard possible.
