@AshleyGWinter Gyn here. We don’t do opportunistic oophorectomy in benign conditions until about age 65. Of course that’s assuming no FHx cancer, presence of cysts, etc. >65 benefits do outweigh risks. Hope that helps and yes I agree too many women have gotten BSO unnecessarily.
