@chriscareyy I agree, I think we have to realistic & allow for some time for change before asking for more. I do feel we deserve more however the current climate; it's just not the right time.
Why can you never find important documents when your need them? ๐ literally only have today to find my portfolio which I clearly shot in the back of some cupboard when I got my band 5 RN ๐
The NHS is crumbling, I've walked in this week to a 12 hour wait to see a Dr most days. It does get better through the day but this is breaking all our staff.
There is no let up for us, our hospital is full, it's awful and ita not sustainable.

Went for a shadow shift at @NECTARtransport yesterday and it's restored my passion in nursing. Nursing really is so diverse. Definitely gave me something to achieve for and a dream career opportunity. Thank you for having me.
But equally I don't think that simulated placements allow you to develop to people skills needed to work in healthcare. Putting pts at ease, chatting through the results, even just asking for consent. A lot of students have to learn how to approach and start a convo with a pt.
There definitely needs to be more emphasis on the teaching of actual clinical skills such as ECGs bladder scans bms alongside teaching interpretation of these skills focusing on giving students the tools to succeed not just assume someone somewhere will teach them eventually.

Christmas with kids is honestly the best... but when your in the thick of creating all the magic, knowing 1 foot wrong & it's all ruined.Its so hard, average bedtime is currently 2am & I'm exhausted, just keep trying to remind myself it's worth it for the magic on his face ๐ ๐ป๐
Reflecting after 1 year Qualified... I must admit its been an experience. There's been some huge learning moments, but also some really great moments like being nominated for a nightingale award ๐ Overall really proud of myself and my journey, and heading towards 10Yrs service.
After 3 long years at uni and 8 years as a HCA I finally finished all of my assignments and absolutely amazed to say I never had to re-submit a single assignment which I'm buzzing about officially finished with academic work and just waiting for classification now @StNurseProject
