I'm a volunteer, animal lover, wife, homeschooling mom, & scout leader. I want to serve HD 74 because we all belong when it comes to improving our community.
There’s an immigrant taking people’s jobs… his name is Elon Musk. He’s snatching farms, government jobs (even those in which they manage our national security), and definitely those whose jobs are to root out fraud (inspector generals), & those that are keeping us safe (FAA), meals on wheels workers, head start, and the list goes on, so I’ll be the bigger person and admit to MAGA that I was wrong when I said immigrants wouldn’t take our jobs. You were 1000 percent correct.
@HRBlock
I'd love to file my taxes but after 40 min with tech support no one can figure out how to attach one state return to the other when @HRBlock has all the info. Time for a refund and going back to support local accountants.
Marking the 175th anniversary for the historic Seneca Falls Convention, @GovKathyHochul called for the #ERANow. She remarked on the urgency of achieving #genderequality. “It is long overdue. We’ve been talking about the ERA since I was a kid, practically.”
Let me introduce you to Virgil Lamar Ware. He was an eighth-grader, an A student who loved to play football.
Virgil had a bright future. He dreamed of becoming a lawyer.
All those hopes and dreams ended on September 15, 1963. The day he was gunned down in the aftermath of the Birmingham church bombing.
Virgil and his brother were returning home, totally unaware that the bombing had occurred.
They encountered Larry Joe Sims and Michael Lee Farley, two sixteen-year-olds coming from a segregationist rally.
When the white teens saw the Ware brothers, Farley told Sims to shoot, to “scare them.” Sims shot Virgil twice, once in the cheek and once in the chest.
The 13-year-old died on the Docena-Sandusky Road on the outskirts of Birmingham.
Young Virgil was buried on the side of the road up until 2004 when he was moved to a plot with a marker thanks to donations.
DeSantis and the likes want to hide this history. History is history.
DeSantis cites “white discomfort” I experience discomfort knowing that DeSantis and the likes don’t want Black history taught.
Black children were casualties of racism. It’s a fact. Children deserve to know and learn from it. #FreshResists #BlackHistoryWithLana
In 1944, a group of white men lynched Reverend Isaac Simmons, a minister and farmer who owned 270 acres of land in Mississippi because they believed the land had oil deposits. Goal- to steal his land and profit from it.
Oh, they weren’t finished after killing the Reverend. The men then brutally beat his son and ran him out of the county.
This is one story of many where racially motivated killings of Black people in the Jim Crow South resulted in farms and land being violently stolen to profit and benefit white farmers.
This is what they’re hiding while telling Black folks to pick themselves up by the “bootstraps.”#FreshVoicesRise #BlackHistoryWithLana
We’re so excited to introduce our 2023 Democratic slate!
These 89 candidates reflect the diversity and culture of Virginia. They are accomplished professionals and trusted leaders in their communities.
RT if you’re fired up to elect these great Democrats this November!
"The U.S. rate for 2021 was 32.9 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births, which is more than ten times the estimated rates of some other high income countries...The CDC's ... found that 84% of pregnancy-related deaths in the U.S. were preventable."

🚨 BREAKING: Virginia Democrats have nominated one of the most diverse slates of candidates EVER.
Having a diverse slate of candidates is critical if the General Assembly is going to reflect the Commonwealth it represents.
Voting is the bedrock of our democracy.
Today’s Supreme Court decision in Moore v. Harper preserves state courts’ critical role in safeguarding elections and protecting the voice and the will of the American people.
We know that more work must to be done to protect the fundamental right to vote and to draw fair maps that reflect the diversity of our communities and our nation. The President and I will keep fighting to secure access to the ballot box, but we cannot do this alone.
We continue to call on Congress to do their part to protect voters and our democracy and pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.
Since Trump is bragging about being “the only living former President who isn’t the descendant of slave-owners,” a reminder that he’s also the only living former POTUS to be sued by Richard Nixon’s Attorney General for refusing to rent apartments/condos to black people.
When you know what you stand for, you know what to fight for.
Democrats stand in defense of freedom and democracy, for civil rights, human rights, and women’s rights. And we won’t back down.
I don’t think most Americans know that we came within two votes of losing our democracy today, and they’ll continue to use their sacred votes to elect people who would appoint judges that would have otherwise cancelled their votes.
Greg Abbott has increased access to guns. Happily abolished the permit requirement to carry guns and lowered the age from 21 to 18.
Texas has no waiting period to purchase a firearm and no worries, you don’t even need a license or training. Oh wait and you can carry your newly purchased firearm in public with no training.
After the mall massacre, a Texan said it wasn’t a Republican or Democrat problem. That’s where you’re wrong Texas. This carnage is a direct result of your Republican Governor.
Greg Abbott says you need more guns. Wake up, you have more guns and there have been more mass murders.
Greg Abbott says mental illness. Well, other countries have mental illness, they don’t have a deluge of children being blown to bits.
This is Republican carnage until Texans, Floridians and other citizens of Republican states hit the streets in protest and vote these greedy politicians out. There will be more bloodshed. #FreshResists
Please don’t think that there a just a few crazies in this Republican Party. Yesterday, EVERY House Republican voted to begin the process of impeaching Joe Biden. Every. Single. Republican.
It’s not just Boebert & MTG.
A woman was forced to carry a baby, missing much of its skull, for months just to bury it.
Some women had fatal fetal anomalies and yet were still denied abortions.
Some women had their water break too soon and were turned away from hospitals.
A 10-year-old rape victim forced to carry a rapist's fetus has to travel out of state for a medical procedure.
A teenager begging a court to allow her to have an abortion because she wants to stay in school was told she wasn't mature enough for an abortion.
A woman sent home to miscarry delivers a dead baby in a hair salon toilet.
Women and girls are fucking suffering. Nothing about this human suffering is pro-life.
The suffering must end in 2024! #FreshVotesBlue
a bridge collapsed in Pennsylvania. the Democratic governor rebuilt it in two weeks. the power grid failed in Texas. the Republican senator fled to Cancun. any questions
There has been nonstop @CNN@MSNBC@FoxNews & other media coverage of the #OceanGate submarine that went missing on Sunday. Since Sunday, 77 people have been shot with 13 fatally in 18 mass shooting incidents in 8 states. Do their lives matter too?
