The ICE agent who shot and killed Joan Sebastian Guerrero on Monday has been identified by his ex-wife as 37-year-old David Michael Brouillette.

“He was asking me to lie for him and to cover for his character,” Ashley Brouillette stated to the Portland Press Herald. “I told him that I was not going to lie for him.”

AP News has additionally reported that, according to his close relatives, Brouillette has a “history of terrifying and violent behavior,” especially toward women – with one sharing a voicemail with the outlet from last winter “in which he told her that he thought someone should slit her throat.”

Joan Sebastian Guerrero should be alive today. A dedicated dad & husband, working hard to support his family, Joan should be here with his wife & his 3-year-old daughter.

ICE agents executed him while his family watched in terror; forever traumatized.

Joan is the second father ICE officers have murdered in one week, and at least the eleventh victim of fatal shootings carried out by the second Trump Administration.

This is the outcome of Trump & his enablers in Congress giving $70 BILLION more to a rogue, violent agency.

An attack on our immigrant neighbors is an attack on us all.

We must abolish ICE. We must hold the agents that stole the lives of Joan, Lorenzo, & others accountable.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo called Houston home for 35 years. On Tuesday, an ICE agent shot and killed him. His family learned of his death from a video before anyone bothered to knock on their door.

New York City stands with the Salgado family in demanding a full, independent investigation and real accountability. To the Salgado family and any immigrant family in this city living in fear: we grieve with you and we will continue to stand beside you in the pursuit of justice.
