In our group, we discussed that the most significant impact factor of poverty is child care. According to the report 27.5% of impoverished children only received care from their parents. This means these children aren't receiving any exposure to other mentors or peers.

This impacts children by putting them behind and less likely to adapt to a school setting. An added stressor for the parents is not being able to work because they have to watch their kids and adds to the cycle of poverty. #EDUC300 #05SP2020

@BeccaKassel In my notes, I wrote down about block and categorical grants and how the block grants give the states the power to make their own spending decisions; when given the grant it can help more with schools in poverty and they can choose who gets the money and what is done with it.
