@Victoriaann007 sight words at home could be a part of homework assignment or could be a resource for students and families who want extra practice. #EDUC300#05SP2020
@Victoriaann007 I really like this idea because it has so much value to students at home. I think even after teachers and students transition back to classroom learning, this method of being able to listen to sight words at home can be used to support lessons done in class. Listening to the...
@AmandaD47003114 I think this teacher's approach to remote learning is really important because she is providing her students with some familiarity and structure through reading online. Instead of assigning independent reading (which is still important), I like that this teacher is able to make..
For her students, the letters reaffirm that they can rely on and trust Mrs. Raugh even if they are not in her classroom. By being able to trust and rely on every member of their classroom, it promotes a positive and successful learning environment. #05sp2020#educ300
Mrs. Raugh is using the Google Norm of dependability by sending letters to her students, to show them that she cares about them. In this time of uncertainty, Mrs. Raugh is showing her students that she is thinking of them and is providing a sense of familiarity and comfort....

In our group, we discussed that the most significant impact factor of poverty is child care. According to the report 27.5% of impoverished children only received care from their parents. This means these children aren't receiving any exposure to other mentors or peers.
The Explore More Discovery Museum represents a Progressivist classroom. Students can interact with the exhibits, such as the Farmer's Market and Maker Studio. This matches John Dewey's idea of "learning by doing" because students are learning through their experiences.
@MMaloney992 philosophy does not pertain to only one subject. I also found that the philosophies (like Social Reconstruction and Progressivism) are very similar and can be interconnected. This was also seen through my educational philosophy inventory being only one point away from each other
@BeccaKassel My group also discussed how a student's ability to learn can be affected by the language they speak at home. While a student's first language should not be an obstacle for their education, it can be if schools do not have the necessary resources (funding) for language services.
@AmandaD47003114 among peers and new friendships". Overall, their ideas of equality and friendships can serve as a model to the rest of their community to strive to be like. #EDUC300#05Sp2020
@AmandaD47003114 Through the Unified Bowling program it is very clear that both the norms of psychological safety and meaning are present. I also think that this group also exhibits the impact norm. I see this through their main purpose of the group to encourage โhigher self-esteem, equal status
@Over_The_Moon16 are seen through Clark being described as a teacher who is "jumping onto desks as he makes a point in class". This shows how he make lessons as engaging as possible for his students. By being invested in their education, he is showing them how important everything they learn it.
However, by having the option to work alone or in groups, it shows students that their teacher cares about them and makes their classroom a safe and collaborative environment. #EDUC300#05Sp2020

I found that classrooms that have adopted flexible seating options have increased the Google norm of psychological safety. With flexible seating options, students have the ability to choose where they want to sit, who they sit with and ultimately decide how they do their work.
