Super appreciative of the effort by @aubreystrobel to raise funds for the renovation of @the_surfer_kids center!

Her recently released film, Lekker Feeling, is an incredible show of support, and to offer help with fundraising in addition to that, that's just pure awesomeness!

This is just over 25% of our 1 BTC goal for renovations.

Just to clarify, the goal stated on the support page, is based on a budget that we drew up in January 2023 when the support page went live. That budget covers basic operational expenses, the vast majority of which goes to salaries for our 11 staff members.

The renovation we're fundraising for through this film is not something that we had intended to do in this year, in 2023. It isn't covered by that budget. But the plan to renovate came up in conversation between our Project Community Leader @LuthandoSABTC and @aubreystrobel during the film's production and so the idea to fund-raise for renovations became a part of the film's release.

This center has housed the @the_surfer_kids since 2015 and we've used the building as is since then. We've never done anything more than basic maintenance.

30 - 40 children attend surf lessons based out of this center, 5 days a week, all year round. For these kids, this is their home.
