If it had been a D, I would have lost my scholarship already. And under the new terms of the scholarship, where you lose it after the first semester if your GPA falls below the required minimum, I would have lost it right from the beginning. In all, grateful to God.
I almost lost my scholarship.
In my first semester, I was placed on academic probation because of my low GPA. If I couldn’t meet the minimum GPA requirement by the next semester, I would lose my scholarship.
I had a C in a required course, and because it was a research-based
lecturer who was also very understanding of the fact that I didn’t have the undergraduate knowledge I was expected to have. I had multiple office-hour sessions with him, sometimes more than once a day. His support was a huge part of how I eventually managed to get a C.

I was already trying to catch up with the lecturer. There simply wasn’t enough time.
About five weeks into the semester, we had our first assessment from the lecturer, and boom. That was how it started. My scores were low.
I I only began to find my feet with the third

Being a teacher is one of the proudest things I have ever done.
And my most memorable day was in 2021 when I taught in 4 different tutorials in a day in different towns.
2 hours in one place and onto the next (cumulatively 8 hours).
No worry, I nearly kpai that day😭.
Qudus Owolola graduated in the top 1% of his class with a bachelor's degree in Demography and Statistics, and went on to earn two master's degrees: in Financial Management and in Financial Economics, each completed with a perfect CGPA of 5.00/5.00.
These achievements are all the more striking given where his journey began.
Qudus grew up in an environment where formal education was undervalued, even discouraged, yet he refused to let his surroundings define his future. Largely self-motivated, he persevered through years of seeking admission before earning his place at university, which is proof that no environment can silence determination.
Today, Qudus is passionate about the future of finance, particularly how artificial intelligence and digital currencies can reshape the way the world saves, invests, and transacts.
He now seeks to build on his strong foundation in statistics, economics, and financial management to help drive that transformation through research and innovation.

What did I do?
I turned to Khan Academy and YouTube. My dad also got me all these pretty subject workbooks from abroad. Honestly, they helped a lot. They made Chemistry and Physics come much more alive than the Ababio textbook that wasn’t making much sense to me at the time.
