@Chi_Prospects The Hawks drafted him thinking he’d be minimum a 2-year college kid, after playing his D+1 in the BCHL. Even last year, they were probably told by his reps that he’d be going to BU for his D+3.
@Hawksong__@OviClapBomb I would feel differently if they traded up into the first to select Pridham. He was their third pick of the third round and their sixth pick of the draft. Fair to say they didn’t like him that much, but clearly had him higher on their list than he was picked, justifying the trade
@ColdestRiley Not forcing plays will come with experience and coaching. Verhoeff having bad feet maybe can be corrected a bit over time but poor skating mechanics are much tougher to overcome than play selection.
@joebeaut72@McCartyDangles They literally said in the group chat that all they need to do is tell the truth. They reiterated several times that she was egging them on for sex.
They were kids blindsided by a police investigation.
EM exaggerated or fabricated the worst parts of her allegations during the civil suit against Hockey Canada.
I have no issue believing she did not know McLeod would invite his teammates to the room. From that point forward, she was not coerced or forced to do anything.
@mtfitzpatrick@BenPopeCST It’s not really different. Toronto made teams aware that Marner was available prior to becoming a UFA and allowed teams (Vegas) to negotiate a contract with him prior to the trade, accepting Roy as compensation for brokering the deal prior to July 1.
@TKlasky2269@BenPopeCST I wouldn't be so sure. It directly contradicts what PuckPedia has and we're talking about beats that (no offense to you guys) didn't know the pick the Hawks got from Florida was top-10 protected for almost a year. There's also been recent CBA changes around draft rights.
@BenPopeCST This really doesn't make any sense. Teams have been doing this for as long as I can remember. A team can let a player, seeking a trade, speak to other teams with their permission but can't let a pending UFA -- who they've they made their rights available for trade -- speak...
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 You have 7 bots following you. Why would you invoke follower count to counter the fact that you haven't read the ruling? Do you know... how to read?
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 Kid -- and it seems like, that's a very accurate name -- you're out here talking about uncontested points of the trial as "you believe" that to be the case. You haven't read shit.
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 They said it was uncomfortable because most of the players had girlfriends and they had never seen a woman behave in the manner EM was.
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 You didn’t read the judge’s ruling, eh?
You believe an undisputed fact was “probably consensual” and don’t seem to understand that EM engaged in and initiated sex acts with the players once she was in the room. She wasn’t forced or coerced. She could have left. She chose not to.
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 The most unclear determination from the trial was whether EM consented to McLeod inviting other players to the room. I lean likely not. That was a PoS move by McLeod but what unfolded after is not a simple matter of players raping a drunk girl.
@stixthekid87@bob7666666@wrld_traveler_7 This is demonstrably untrue. The players consistently said — even in a group chat a couple of days after the night — that she was asking for sex from the players; that she consented. EM fabricated or exaggerated the worst parts of her version of events for the civil suit.
