Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard has died. He was 56.

Hansard won an Oscar for "Falling Slowly" from the 2007 film "Once," in which he also starred. He also had a role in the hit 1991 movie "The Commitments" and performed in bands as a solo artist, earning a Grammy nomination in 2016.

Hansard started out as a busker on the streets of Dublin before building his musical and acting career.

His management team said he died in a motorcycle crash in Dublin early Thursday morning.

Dr. Anthony Fauci helped lead the White House COVID-19 pandemic response for Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Fauci, who retired from government service at the end of 2022, appeared before Congress Wednesday under a congressional subpoena. He invoked his Fifth Amendment right and declined to answer senators' questions more than 100 times.
