I’m terrified we’ve reached a point where personally masking won’t protect us from unmasked people in medical settings.
My family has necessary in-person appts, but med staff + other patients don’t mask.
We’re Immunocompromised.

That’s what this boils down to.

Even setting aside the moral depravity of their — it’s also a truly 💩 plan economically.
Prevention always costs less than consequences.
The economy doesn’t grow when people die or become disabled.

@ESmithStevens From the beginning, we’ve known that masks are most effective at stopping infected people from spreading it to others.

When infected people don’t mask, they’re still spreading it to us, even if we DO mask.

The Immunocompromised have been hung out to dry. It’s so demoralizing

It underscores that leaving Immunocompromised people to fend for themselves isn’t effective. We need *everyone* to mask, to protect the most vulnerable.
