If you take any 2 statistics of Bobby Abreu’s career numbers, the players who fit that criteria are literally just him and a bunch of Hall of Famers. I will post a different combo each day to prove it. #AbreuforHOF
What a play by Stott to turn that DP and save a run. No way Bohm even looks at 2B there. He got right of that so quick and so did Arraez on the turn.
I think Stott might be just fine over there.
@TheWARmonger_ Just curious, are there any plays where it’s only like a 5% catch but the OF doesn’t have to dive? Like it just looks so routine because of the jump?
ERA last 3x thru the rotation(8-7 record)
Sanchez 2.65
Painter 2.93
Nola 3.24
Luzardo 3.38
Wheeler 7.84
Painter has allowed just 8 hits in 15.1 IP with 16 Ks. The 7 BBs need to be down though. A good sign for both 4/5 SPs to hopefully take pressure off of top 3
The Phillies FINALLY get a win from their 5th starter. The last one came May 18th, 85 days ago! They had lost the previous 13 and 16 of 17 from the 5th spot.
Painter looked great tonight and for the 3rd start in a row since being recalled.
Unbelievable. It’s just how things are going. Get the lead back up to 4 and then immediately blow it. A routine inning ending DP that hits off Rangels leg turns into a double. Lucky to still have a lead but this can’t be another blown game
They’ve gone 6-7 so far during this stretch and the sad thing is, they could have easily won all 13.
The 7 losses:
-2 run lead in 9th
-1-0
-up 6-0
-up 2 in 7th
-extras
-tying run thrown out at plate in 9th
-up 2 in 8th
Even going 10-3 would’ve still had 3 blown losses
The Phillies next 31 games, basically til the end of August, are against teams currently out of a playoff spot. They should hopefully get 20 wins out of this and create some separation in the WC race because the September schedule is a gauntlet of playoff teams.
Look I despise Alec Bohm and cant wait until he’s gone, but you can’t argue that he’s their best hitter with RISP. That’s why he hits where he does. Among ALL active hitters(min. 500 ABs) he’s 10th in avg with RISP and he’s hitting .304 this year. It’s the only thing he does well
@BillyCeeee He’s an extremely hatable player but even last night, despite not getting an out on the grounder, he made 2 nice scoops at 1B on bad throws by Stott. Not sure Schwarber or even Harper makes both those plus. And as bad as it sounds, he’s probably their best defensive 1B
It’s been 17 innings since the Phillies have scored a run for Aaron Nola. He’s finally looked good these last few starts and is getting literally 0 run support.
Vladdy having a huge power drought this season
*immediately hits a HR facing Nola
Man, those corn fields are gonna get peppered when he starts Thursday night.
