Turkey and Qatar are proposing a stability plan for Lebanon and Syria to Trump, contingent—according to them—on Israel’s withdrawal from the region. We must remind the Americans @POTUS @marcorubio , EU and the enlightened world exactly who Turkey and its Sunni axis are. These are the same Turks who perpetrated genocide against the Maronite Christians of Lebanon between 1860 and the 1915–1918 period—an event known in Aramaic as *Kafna* (systematic starvation, expulsion, and ethnic cleansing in Mount Lebanon), resulting in the deaths of 220,000 Aramean Maronites. These are the same Turks who carried out the genocide against the Aramean-Syriac people in Tur Abdin in 1915—an event known in Aramaic as *Sayfo* (meaning "the sword"), which claimed 300,000 lives.
These are the very same Turks and their supporters who massacred two million Pontic Greek Christians and 1.5 million Armenians. To this day, these barbarians deny their atrocities. And now, they want to be Israel’s northern neighbors!!! If the U.S. wants stability in Lebanon, it must consign their initiative to the dustbin. Otherwise, world powers will find themselves marching their armies into Lebanon to save the Christians from yet another genocide there, and to prevent an attempted genocide against the Jews in Israel.

Only six days after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, Alexander Haig, then U.S. Secretary of State, wrote a letter to President Ronald Reagan outlining what America's objectives in Lebanon should be.

And what were those objectives? Encouraging Israeli domination? Fomenting civil war? Further weakening the Lebanese state? That is what leftist and Islamist propaganda would have us believe.

Except there was nothing of the sort. This is what America's top diplomat had in mind: (1) creating a strong Lebanese government; (2) linking an Israeli withdrawal to a Syrian withdrawal in order to secure both; and (3) ending the PLO's position as a state within a state and making it accountable to Lebanon's legitimate authorities.

That was essentially it. In a nutshell: All foreign forces should leave, and Lebanon should have a functional, sovereign state.
