Elisa is running for RCoA Council member. Voting open today For those who know Elisa professionally (and personally) it seems obvious she will be a most excellent addition to the RCoA council. This is why you should vote for her.
Elisa has integrity, listens openly, has a strong moral compass, and speaks up passionately for what is fair, representative and the right thing to do. She implements change and is keen that the college council is an accurate representation of the anaesthetists it represents
Thank you @uclh for this award. Incredibly grateful to my patient who nominated me, honoured and proud to represent team anaesthesia and all my wonderful colleagues who strive to do their best for patients when at their most vulnerable. @RCoANews
Each year our patients nominate staff who they feel have gone over and above with the services they provide. This year's winner is Jignasa Modha! "She made me feel very at ease and helped me with my fears of being put to sleep when I came in for my major operation." #CEA2021
So, our paper out today on risk factors for death from COVID-19. The largest analysis ever done, on 17.4 MILLION adults' full pseudonymised records. UK data in action! How did we do it? Innovation, collaboration, and listening...

The gratitude as a profession is immense, however the cracks in the system seem more apparent now than ever. We need investment, sustainable policy and the right decision makers.
"We will never stop striving to keep our patients safe โ but we are not, like cheap rhetoric, disposable."
I cannot abide being lauded as a hero by politicians who allow my colleagues to die for want of proper PPE.
Here's my piece on why.
