A5: Last year we made our standards tracking excel sheet in Dec. This year we are starting it from the beginning because it was very helpful for making sure we did not have any holes in our instruction and will give us a focus for remediation needs. #OpenUpELA

@crysfsu We are trying to play around with using OneNote with our students for some of the pieces as well in 5th grade because our 5th graders will have access to one-to-one devices this year.

We are an AVID school so our Ss will track their personal data and goals in their binders. As a school we track data in our data/planning room so it is visible during our planning sessions. We also track standard mastery with a spreadsheet throughout the school year. #OpenUpELA

Disturbing but not surprising-despite billions of $ to improve reading outcomes, lowest performing Ss are doing worse. If we keep teaching discrete skills in isolation & prioritize “stuff” over sustained time to read texts of choice we will get same results
