ASLEF EC member for Scotland, NLTUC founder member & former chair and supporter of his local football team (well, why wouldn't you?) The views shown are my own.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the launch of our Dignity for Drivers report this week.
Access to toilets and hygiene facilities is vital for train drivers' health and safety, and to avoid developing long-term health conditions.

This afternoon @AlexRowleyFife welcomed ASLEF members to the Scottish Parliament to launch our Dignity for Drivers report. Train drivers shared their personal experiences with MSPs and industry leaders as we call for change and dignity for all.
The ‘Dignity for Drivers’ report was prompted by the @ASLEFunion women’s committee demand for action over access to toilet facilities and time to use them when required during the working day’

Listened to Jim this morning, eloquent as usual , very good listen.
The scrapping of peak fares would tempt more people to use the train network.
Jim excellently pointed out that it wasn't ASLEF striking recently when the interviewer tried to use that argument. 👏🏻👏🏻
Across the media today
there has been fantastic coverage of the campaign to permanently end peak fares - @UnityConsults is proud to be working with @ASLEF_Scotland and the other rail unions on this very important campaign
We need a clean, efficient, reliable and, most importantly, affordable railway. Time to permanently scrap peak time fares, an unfair tax on working people.
If @scotgov is to meet climate commitments, they must take action on the most polluting parts of Scottish life.
Making train travel more affordable - permanently - will help people with the cost of living, boost social connections and bring down climate emissions.
Just a wee reminder that our 35th Anniversary custom show and dance is coming up.
Can anyone who intends to show their scooter or what’s to have a stall, but hasn’t been in touch yet let one of the club members know asap?
Anyone who is still looking for tickets also get in touch.
