@Jorrit_Kelder Thanks for sharing these photos; I'm both delighted & a bit frustrated to see them! I was in Athens at the beginning of May, and I had expected that these lovely things would be on display by then after returning from the Getty. So now I have to go back to Athens soon...
@DrJEBall I do love those rare times when you finally steel yourself to take on a piece of work that you've been dreading, and it actually turns out to be quite straightforward. Maybe all the time your subconscious has been working on it, and smoothing out the rough edges?
@HeraklesCithare Professor John Camp was one of their consultants for this game.
Here's the lovely stamnos, painted by the Siren painter, of the ship of Odysseus passing by the Sirens. It's now in the British Museum.
@5liveSport@LaurensJulien Just grandstanding to get clicks & attention. We came away from Paris with a chance to win the tie. We lost Ekitike to a bad injury in the first half. But if that penalty had been given or that Ngumoha shot had gone in we wouldโve been within a goal & in with a chance.
@aniketos0 That's fascinating! Thank you for sharing this. I have followed in Alexander's footsteps to many places, but I didn't realise that when I visited Sakkara, I was standing outside his original tomb. The statues are protected now, but sadly they have deteriorated since 1955.
@ravi_mal@TfL So did I! I think Oyster cards only work that far & at stations further out you may need to show your Freedom Pass to station staff to be let in or out
@TfL A friend told me this just last week! That was the first Iโd heard of it ๐. Iโve used the Lizzy Line since day 1, but I normally only travel between Paddington & Tottenham Court Road on it.
@aniketos0 Do you know when this photo was taken?
It does seem to have suffered more damage since I visited in 2014. At that time it was set on a higher plinth, positioned a bit more vertically & had a descriptive plaque.
@footballontnt Wonderful atmosphere & incredible noise levels in the stadium too! I was amazed to see that it has a capacity of just 8,270 - congratulations to their supporters.
@Peston This really is just a game to you media folks isn't it? @SamCoatesSky criticises the lack of support from the cabinet; everyone from the cabinet comes out in support of Starmer, so now you criticise them for showing support. Just childish nonsense.
@TrentTelenko Shocking defence of the indefensible. Your comments on the Ukraine have been really informative, but your victim-blaming here is sad to see. Mr Pretti did not draw his gun, and he was shot in the back after he had been disarmed.
